Cruz cousins Sheryl, Sunshine, Geneva, Donna reunite for online musical collab
The Cruz cousins Sunshine, Sheryl, Donna and Geneva are set to reunite virtually and treat fans to a musical collaboration.
The multitalented cousins, all of them actresses and singers, have taken to Instagram to announce their coming virtual gig on Sunday, June 14.
“And we are complete!!! Collaboration will come out this [Sunday at 1 p.m.]! #Cruzwomen2020 #buildingeachotherup #FamilyCruz #cousins,” Sunshine posted on Thursday, June 11.
Sheryl gave fans yesterday, June 12, a teaser of their coming performance of The Corrs hit “Breathless,” which they sang in their respective homes amid the quarantine.
“The power of 4!” Geneva posted on the same day. She also gave credit to the musicians joining them for the collaboration, namely, Mark Flores (guitarist and video producer), Keisy Hicban (bassist) and Krister Castro (drummer).
Donna, meanwhile, rejoiced that the Cruz cousins are now complete, saying, “Finally! Nagkasama din po kami 4 #magpipinsan kahit #virtually man lang.”
(Finally! Us four cousins have finally been reunited albeit only virtually.)
Geneva, Sunshine and Donna earlier this month also covered hit ’90s song “You’re in Love” by Wilson Philipps, which Geneva posted on Instagram on June 3.
Earlier in April, Sheryl reunited with her “That’s Entertainment” friends to perform ’80s Starship hit “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” also via Instagram.
The pandemic-induced quarantine has brought about the rise of online concerts and virtual gigs from their homes due to health protocols. Award-winning folk pop band Ben&Ben, for one, is also set to hold an online jam session later today, June 13, at 3 p.m. via video-sharing app TikTok, where they will be performing their latest single “Lifetime” live for the first time. /ra
