‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ sequel starts production
The sequel for Sony’s hit animated movie “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” has started production, Sony Pictures Imageworks lead animator revealed.
“First day on the job!” Nick Kondo posted on Twitter on June 8. The announcement came with a short animation featuring the superhero’s logo and “2022,” the year it is set to come out.

While it came out in a time when Marvel Cinematic Universe films dominate the superhero movie genre, Sony’s animated take on the friendly neighborhood hero made a name for itself with its ingenuity in both visuals and storytelling on diversity and family.
“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” has received several awards for best animated film from prestigious award-giving bodies such as the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the Critic’s Choice Awards, the Golden Globes and the Oscars, among several others.
