Actress Bea Alonzo’s charity organization, I Am Hope, marked another milestone by raising P9 million through cash and in-kind donations.

The organization reaffirmed its mission to provide assistance to communities in times of crisis, not only during this COVID-19 pandemic but also in other situations, as per its Instagram post yesterday, May 27.

“Our [mission] is to provide assistance to communities focusing on poverty alleviation through education [and] feeding,” it said.

The organization was co-founded by Alonzo with producer and friend Rina Navarro. “It’s Showtime” host Vhong Navarro, actor Laurence Mossman, Tricia Canilao and May Militante are members of the group as well.

Alonzo also introduced the other members of their organization and gave a tour of their headquarters, as seen in a video on her Instagram page yesterday.

The actress announced that they had reached out to 44 hospitals and 36 communities. She also expressed her gratitude to everyone who made a donation.

Alonzo stated that the group was on its second wave of helping communities. I Am Hope’s COVID-19 relief efforts initially began with helping frontline workers by providing them personal protective equipment, food and medical supplies.

For its second run, Alonzo and her team will focus on feeding communities and helping with their livelihood during this quarantine period.

Alonzo’s group previously handed out food to stranded students at the University of the Philippines Diliman and frontliners working with Vice President Leni Robredo. It also gave relief goods to jeepney drivers in Manila while their livelihood is put on hold due to the community quarantine. NVG
