Kim Chiu is selling T-shirts inspired by her new song “Bawal Lumabas” to provide food packages to families in need during the enhanced community quarantine.

The actress made the announcement on her YouTube channel yesterday, May 25.

Chiu and her team produced three designs and will be selling the T-shirts for P295 each. Chiu also pointed out that they have only produced limited stocks of the clothes, adding that the initiative is simply a trial for now.

However, if the effort is successful, Chiu intends to also donate to Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis’ “Shop and Share” project to support mass testing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

After noting how she plans to use the proceeds from the shirts’ sales, Chiu said, “So sumisilip po ang pag-asa na one day pwede na tayong lumabas (So the hope that we can one day go back outside is peeking).”

“This is a very hard moment ngayon na meron tayo (that we have now),” she added while urging her fans to help each other during these unprecedented times.

Along with the launch of the T-shirts, Chiu also reached out to DJ Loonyo to ask him to create dance moves for the track’s chorus. Chiu then performed DJ Loonyo’s steps to the single beside a clip of him and two other dancers following the choreography.

Chiu worked with artists DJ Squammy and Adrian Crisanto to turn her “Bawal Lumabas” gaffe into her latest single. Following the launch, Chiu’s fans praised her for turning the viral statement, which she was mocked for, into a song.  /ra
