Indie folk band Ben&Ben has collaborated with Thai band Scrubb from the safety of their own homes.

They played Scrubb’s song “Everything”, which is part of the soundtrack of this year’s Thai Boys’ Love series “2gether”.

Thai duo Thawatpon Wongboonsiri and Torpong Chantabubpha were on vocals and guitar in the session, posted on Ben&Ben’s Twitter today, May 14.

For the part of Ben&Ben, some played actual instruments, like Keifer Cabugao on violin and Poch Barretto on guitar, while Miguel and Paolo Guico provided back-up vocals.

The rest got resourceful with household items to add texture to the song. Agnes Reoma brushed her shoe, Andrew de Pano thumped a cleaning scrubber on his chest, Patricia Lasaten rubbed her soapy hands, Toni Muñoz brushed her teeth and Jam Villanueva wiped a glass surface.

The effect was a folksy version of the song, which is among those that have been adored by fans of “2gether”. The series is based on a novel by JittiRain, who drew inspiration for the love story from Scrubb’s songs.

“2gether” has drawn a following in the country with the series being available on YouTube, so much so that Scrubb’s songs have made it to Spotify Philippines’ viral 50 as of writing. JB
