Theater icon Lea Salonga is set to hold a livestream tonight, May 12, to aid members of the performing arts community affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
The online event, titled “Don’t Call Me Leah! A Masterclass by Lea Salonga” will stream on the Philstage Facebook page at 10:30 p.m.
Salonga will be joined by theater “queens” who will entertain with song performances: GMA artist Nar Cabico, TV actor and thespian Ricci Chan, Jay Barrameda (“Quest for the Adarna”), “Rak of Aegis” alums Adrian Lindayag and Chamyto Aguedan, and “Ang Huling El Bimbo” actors Phi Palmos and Lance Reblando.
“Don’t Call Me Leah!” is part of the Open House fundraising project, which aims to benefit members of the performing arts community displaced during the community quarantine. These include freelancers, performers, designers, technicians and production staff who have lost their sources of income as projects and jobs are put on hold.
