Sharon Cuneta helped raise over P2 million for families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through her online Mother’s Day concert yesterday, May 10.

Following the fundraising event, the Megastar revealed that various donors gave a total of P2,000,977.38 as of 10:00 p.m. of the same day.

The collected amount will be used for the “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” program of her home network, ABS-CBN, as seen on her Instagram post. The said campaign provides food to those who can no longer make a living due to the quarantine measures imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Cuneta also urged her fans to continue donating to the cause today, May 11, alongside a poster showing where people can send their donations.

“Thank you so much again to those of you who watched my online fundraising concert last night, especially to those who donated!” the singer said. “You can still donate til Tuesday. Thank you so much again and God bless us all!”

Prior to holding her own fundraising concert, Cuneta also donated P1 million to Regine Velasquez’s online show last month, which benefited Bantay Bata 163, a social welfare program for disadvantaged children.

Along with the two singers, other musicians and artists have helped raise funds for those affected by COVID-19. Several artists participated in Ryan Cayabyab’s initiative called “Bayanihan, Musikahan”. Among the artists who lent their voices to the cause were the group Smokey Mountain, Karylle and Lea Salonga.
