Sylvia Sanchez and her husband Art Atayde have finally reunited with their children after recovering from COVID-19. The couple confirmed they tested positive for the coronavirus on March 31.
“After [one] month [and] [nine] days, we can now hug, kiss, play, and eat together [with] our kids,” Sanchez said on her Instagram page yesterday, May 3. She posted a series of photos of her and her husband hugging and enjoying a meal with their children, Arjo, Ria, Gela and Xavi.
“Tandang tanda ko yong pakiramdam ko na di namin pwedeng malapitan, mayakap o mahalikan ang mga anak namin,” she recalled. “Ang lungkot! Napakalungkot.”
(I remember the feeling of not being able to come near, hug or kiss our children. It was so sad! Very sad.)
Sanchez then expressed how it crushed her heart whenever she thought how it was possible she and Atayde could infect their children at the time.
“Yan ang pinaka kinakatakutan ko habang nakikipaglaban kami mag asawa sa [COVID-19],” she added. “[Yan] ang pinagdarasal ko araw araw sa hospital bed ko na sana wag mangyari.”
(That was my greatest fear while my husband and I were fighting COVID-19. That was what I prayed for every day in the hospital bed, that it may not happen.)
Sylvia said that she and Art are finally well as they are reunited with their kids, weeks after they started receiving treatment in a hospital.
“Finally, nayakap na namin mga anak namin kaninang lunch. Yahoooo!!!” the happy mother said. “Ang sarap sarap ng pakiramdam!! Ang saya, saya.”
(Finally, we were able to hug our kids during lunch a while ago. Yahoo! It felt so good! It was so much fun.)
She then thanked all her fans and colleagues who prayed for their recovery.
“But most of all, thank you to all the frontliners that took care of us and to those who continue to fight for everyone,” Sanchez stressed.
“Ngayon,” she said, “haharapin namin ang buhay ulit nang magkakasama.” (Now, we will face life together again.) JB
