With studio productions up in the air during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, TV host Trevor Noah is ensuring that crew members are not left behind.
“The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” is among late-night shows who have put production on pause last March to curb the spread of the virus. However, it also means that 25 crew members have had to be furloughed.
Noah is personally paying these members’ salaries until production gets back on track, Variety reported on Thursday, April 30.
“These are the people who have been on the show with Trevor from day one and help him put on the show,” a source said in the report.
In the meantime, Noah has been running the show remotely and has called it “The Daily Social Distancing Show With Trevor Noah”. Producers, writers and production staff are still onboard and contributing to the show from the safety of their homes. Niña V. Guno/JB
