Rita Avila, husband FM Reyes rescue injured dog found in front of their home
Actress Rita Avila and her husband, director FM Reyes, rescued an injured dog that found its way to their home.
“This dog went in front of our gate as if asking for help,” she said on her Instagram page yesterday, May 2.
“My husband was appalled to see her neck embedded with a tight collar chain!!!” Avila added.
After finding the injured canine, it was then sent to the Pendragon Veterinary Clinic in Quezon City.
Avila also included in her post a photo of the dog, showing its shaven neck and the wound left by the tight collar it had. A portion of the animal’s left leg was also bandaged.

“Thanks for [your] love [and] support asawa ko (my husband),” she said.
Avila later explained that the dog’s injury will take a month to heal, after one @emsbollozos expressed hope it was doing fine now. Despite the time needed for the canine to recover, Avila noted that it is a kind dog and able to endure its wounds.
“Kawawa talaga (Really pitiful),” Avila added.
Aside from helping the injured dog, Avila and her husband also found a stray kitten in front of their home last October. The couple then decided to adopt the feline, adding to the other cats and dogs they already care for. JB
