Actors Nicco Manalo and Iana Bernardez said they’ve come up with a daily routine in order to keep their sanity in check while stuck at home because of the ongoing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) imposed by the government. Nico and Iana were among the cast of Dwein Baltazar’s “Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus” who participated in a Facebook Live session organized recently by the Lockdown Cinema Club.

“I’m OK. I’ve developed a routine so I won’t feel agitated or go crazy while inside the house,” Nicco said when asked how he was coping with the isolation. “This includes watching TV and gathering more information about what’s happening [here and abroad].”

Nicco added: “I also exercise—this tragedy had to happen to force me to exercise regularly. I do body-weight exercises, as well as yoga, which I need in order to calm my nerves, so I don’t overthink things.”

Iana, meanwhile, said she turned to watching movies on Netflix to keep herself busy. “I’m done watching ‘Goodfellas,’ as well as ‘The Godfather’ series. I will start watching movies by Studio Ghibli,” she added.

“I also watch workout videos on YouTube, then I exercise from 4:30 to 5 p.m. This has become a routine for me now,” she said. “While in quarantine, my family and I also limit consumption of food in the ref. We reheat them. In fairness, we now eat dinner together. We weren’t like this before ECQ. Plus, I now have time to quarrel with my sister,” she added, laughing. —MARINEL R. CRUZ INQ
