As coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases continue to rise in the country, comedian Vice Ganda honored his sister for her work as a hospital frontliner.

“[Araw-araw] natatakot ako para sa’yo. Pero [araw-araw] mas ipinagmamalaki kita,” he said in an Instagram post yesterday, April 25.

(Every day I am scared for you. But every day I am more proud of you.)

Vice shared pictures of his sister, Dr. Tina Viceral, in full PPE gear as she worked in a COVID-19 area of the Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH).

“Mula pa sa [pag-aaral] ng Medisina hanggang ngayon na Doktor ka na ay [kitang-kita] ko ang mga pagsasakripisyo mo.”

(I have seen the sacrifices you have made, since your studies in medicine all the way to being a doctor now.)

“Dati sabi mo ang dahilan kaya gusto mong magdoktor kasi gusto mo lang alagaan ang [lalamunan] at boses ko. Pero ngayon ang mundo na ang inaalagaan mo,” he said.

(You used to say that you wanted to be a doctor to take care of my throat and voice. But now you are taking care of the world.)

On top of her difficult work, Vice’s sister has to stay isolated from the rest of the family to avoid getting anyone sick, he shared last March 31 on “It’s Showtime”.

“Ang lungkot ng buhay niya kasi ospital, tapos kapag uuwi siya ng bahay hindi siya puwedeng lumabas ng kuwarto,” he said.

(Her life is sad because [from the] hospital she goes home and she cannot leave her room.)

Vice has extended help to frontliners by donating medical supplies such as masks and gloves to hospitals. JB
