A month after actress Angel Locsin and her team began their COVID-19 relief campaign, the group is finally signing off following its success in providing tents to address the overcrowding in hospitals nationwide.

Locsin’s team was able to reach out to 135 hospitals, setting up 246 tents (225 isolation tents and 21 sanitation tents with misting machine). The group was also able to raise P11.35 million in a span of 19 days, as per Locsin’s Instagram post yesterday, April 24.

Together with Locsin in the UniTENTweStandPH campaign were her fiance Neil Arce, Locsin’s best friend and fellow actress Dimples Romana, as well as their other friends Gines Sarangaya and Dr. Marev Matic.

“In the [beginning,] our only dream was to provide tents to hospitals for patients, for our frontliners, to address the challenge in overcrowding, and to help lessen the increase of spreading the virus in hospitals,” Locsin said.

“[But] because you were all so generous and kind, we received from you donations of food, PPEs (personal protective equipment), aircon and many others kaya naman po dahil sa inyo (and so because of you) we were able to give out not only tents but also PPEs and other supplies,” she added.

Locsin expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all their sponsors and suppliers who had made their initiative a success.

“You have reached out your helping hands even while you are home and did not only give but sent out love and prayers to those who needed your help,” she said.

She also sent her love and admiration to the frontliners who are continuously battling COVID-19.

Locsin showed the list of hospitals that received tents from the group through a series of photos. The initiative also enumerated all the goods, appliances, medical supplies and equipment that were donated to these hospitals, together with the items’ respective donors.

The initiative stopped accepting monetary donations on April 13 after the fund collected reached P10.95 million, but continued its operations until yesterday.

Meanwhile, Locsin celebrated her 35th birthday last Thursday, April 23. Aside from her hospital tent initiative, the “Darna” star also encouraged her fans to donate their blood to the Philippine Red Cross amid the COVID-19 pandemic.  /ra
