Baeby Baste’s police officer dad back on duty after COVID-19 recovery

MANILA, Philippines — The police officer – father of child star Baeby Baste is back on duty after recovering from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Baeby Baste, whose real name is Sebastian Benedict Granfon Arumpac, shared the good news over his Instagram account.

“Back to work na po si Papa Sol. Thank You Lord God. thank you po sa prayers nyo dabarkads. My papa is a FRONTLINER,” the “Eat Bulaga” host wrote Wednesday.

(My Papa Sol is back to work. Thank you Lord God. Thank you for all your prayers. My papa is a frontliner.)

He also expressed well-wishes for his father’s colleagues who were placed on quararantine in Camp Crame’s isolation facility.

“Sana po gumaling na din po mga kasamahan nya sa Isolation Bldg. ng Camp Crame at sa lahat po ng mga lumalaban sa virus, naway papagalingin na po kayo ni Lord #PNPcovidpositive #weHEALasONE,” he said.

(I hope all of his colleagues in the isolation building in Camp Crame recover soon. And to all who are battling the virus, I hope you are healed by the Lord.)

In an Instagram post on April 15, Baeby Baste confirmed that his father was among the COVID-19 positive police officers.

“For our COVID-19 positive PNP Frontliners  sa Camp Crame… isa po dun si Papa Sol ko. Kaya po here’s a little something for them para malaman nila kahit nasa isolation bldg. po sila, na they are loved,” he captioned a photo of himself with their donations to police ranks.(For our COVID-19 positive PNP frontliners in Camp Crame. One of them is my Papa Sol. So here’s a little something to let them know that even though they are in isolation, they are loved.)

There are now 78 police officers who tested positive for the coronavirus, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

Three police officers have died while 12 have recovered.

Nationwide, confirmed COVID-19 cases are at 6,710 with 446 fatalities and 693 recoveries.
