“Our duet will be out in Spotify soon!” she added, while mentioning that it was written by Karylle and arranged by Yael Yuzon.

The next day, Padilla spoke about their mother-daughter duet again. She also uploaded an old photo of her singing with Karylle and an artwork of them by one Archie Goc-ong.

@anakarylle‘s [dad] took so many pictures of us and am I glad he did!” Padilla said. “30 some years after, we have recorded another duet and I’m so happy that it will soon be out in Spotify.”

“We think the song is especially timely since it talks about strengthening bonds with your family,” she added.

@anakarylle ‘s Dad took so many pictures of us and am I glad he did! 30 some years after, we have recorded another duet and I’m so happy that it will soon be out in Spotify. We think the song is especially timely since it talks about strengthening bonds with your family. Please watch out for “Simula”, written by Karylle. Karylle told me a story about how in a flight back to Manila there was a storm and their flight was diverted. They tried to land in Cebu but couldn’t. They tried to land in Subic but couldn’t either. Finally, the plane went back to Manila and was able to land. She told me, “Mama, all the while the plane kept circling, I kept listening to our song. Your voice was calming and I felt you were with me. I was afraid but I felt you were there”. ❤️❤️❤️ #motherdaughterbond Thank you God for my daughters! They give me so much joy!!!

While Padilla did not mention when Karylle wrote the piece, she narrated how it had comforted her daughter when Karylle was flying back to Manila during a storm. The rain led to her trip being diverted so the plane tried to land in Cebu or Subic instead, but was unable to.

“Finally, the plane went back to Manila and was able to land,” Padilla said. “She told me, ‘Mama, all the while the plane kept circling, I kept listening to our song. Your voice was calming and I felt you were with me. I was afraid but I felt you were there.’”

Meanwhile, Karylle also spoke about their duet on her own page. Prior to performing the song on “ASAP Natin ‘To,” Karylle said she never thought they would end up releasing it.

“I was kinda quietly dreaming of launching my special duet of SIMULA with mama @zsazsapadilla on [“ASAP Natin ‘To”] on Mother’s Day but I didn’t think it would actually happen.”

While the mother-and-daughter duo did not mention an exact date for the song’s release on Spotify, Karylle assured her fans that it would be out “any day now.” /ra
