Angel Locsin has stopped her fundraising effort for hospital tents after successfully receiving over P10.9 million in cash donations.

“Because of your overwhelming support, we are happy to announce that we have sufficiently funded the #UniTENTweStandPH campaign,” the actress announced in a video on Instagram at around midnight today, April 13.

“With a full and grateful heart, we are now ending the fundraising and will no longer accept CASH donations through PayPal, Paymaya, or bank account.”

She assured that although the call for donations has ended, the work to put up hospital tents will continue.

Locsin shared in the video that the total amount raised was P10,956,702.98.

She also gave a breakdown of expenses, namely P9,847,400 to the supplier of tents, P213,269.76 in PayPal fees and P125,000 in other expenses such as food, gas, tips and masks. She said 150 hospital tents can be put up with the funds raised.

Locsin reiterated the purpose of the crowdfunding effort in the video. “Binuo po ang #UniTENTweStandPH para po makatulong kahit papano sa overcrowding situation sa hospital, sa mga pasyente hindi na po nagagamot, sa mga health workers na hindi nabibigyan ng tamang proteksyon, sa mga pasyenteng nahahalo sa ibang mga cases. Ayun po ang dahilan kung bakit po tayo nandidito.”

(#UniTENTweStandPH was formed to help the overcrowding situation in the hospitals, for patients who cannot be treated, for health workers who are not properly protected, for patients who get mixed with other cases. This is why we are here.)

The actress launched the initiative on March 25. As of Friday, April 10, 69 tents had been donated. JB
