MANILA, Philippines—Julia Barretto, along with sisters Dani and Claudia, hit a fundraising milestone for a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) quarantine facility.

Julia made the announcement on Instagram Saturday, April 11. “Good news! Our fundraiser #ParaMayBukas has already reached its 600,000PHP goal but because of your generosity and support we ended our fundraiser with more— 651,952.22PHP!!!”

“My sisters Dani, Claudia, and I want to thank everyone who took part [in] this mission. This was a success because of all your support and help,” she said.

She also shared an update via Instagram Stories of the facility being built at the Fe Del Mundo Medical Center in Quezon City. The facility aims to address the issue of overcrowding in hospitals as COVID-19 cases continue to increase in the country.

The three sisters launched the crowdfunding initiative last April 5 on GoGetFunding. The page says P216,160 was raised online while P435,792.22 came from offline donations.

The amount of P350,000 covers the cost of one facility, while P250,000 is for the meals and PPE of those who will build it. Dani said on her Instagram post that “P301,952.22 will go to the workforce for their meals and PPEs.”
