A raft of singers, actors, journalists, television hosts, athletes comprising more than 300 celebrities in total have joined together in song to raise funds for the Fondation des Hôpitaux de Paris / Hôpitaux de France. This is in a bid to garner more financial support for doctors, aid and healthcare workers at those hospitals fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The coronavirus disease, which has so far claimed more 10,000 lives across France, with over 100,000 reported cases there, has hit the country hard, where a lock-down has so-far failed to slow the spread, and where the infection rate is still currently rising, despite several stringent ‘lock-down’ measures recently implemented by the French government.

The tune, titled “And Tomorrow” (“Et Demain” in French) was unveiled on Tuesday evening on television, and brings together several stars, from: Jean-Louis Aubert to Zinédine Zidane, Monica Bellucci, Nicolas Canteloup and Jean Dujardin; as well as the likes of Kev Adams, Richard Anconina, Arthur, Marc-Olivier Fogiel, The Avener, Fabien Barthez, Benjamin Biolay, Black M, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Omar Sy and Lilian Thuram; 350 celebrities in total joining together (online) for the cause.

The generous token by the famous participants, who gathered at a distance to compile the melody, culminating in a gigantic mosaic of videos strung together as one, will further be distributed internationally on social media, and aims to rustle up online donations from viewers and listeners; with funds to be collected via the Facebook page of the “Et Demain” collective.

Commenting on the charitable project in a statement earlier today, the Fondation des Hôpitaux de Paris-Hôpitaux de France, *wrote via a press release (*loosely translated from French):

“In this very difficult period of questioning and solidarity (…), this approach aims to collect funds from each of us in order to support and help all these anonymous people who work every minute and tirelessly to allow us to hope for another … tomorrow. More than ever, stay with us and think of them!” JB
