Along with the medical professionals who risk their lives to fight COVID-19, we would not survive without those who provide equally important services such as grocery staff during these difficult times.

Acknowledging their efforts to help everyone amid the pandemic, Vice Ganda has a message for the times we may have treated them wrong.

“Ngayon naappreciate natin ang halaga ng mga service crew, grocery staff, kahera at baggers (Now we are appreciating the value of the service crew, grocery staff, cashiers and baggers),” he said on his Twitter page yesterday, April 8.

“Patawarin nyo po kami kung minsan namin kayong napakitaan ng pangit na attitude,” he added. “Di po namin malilimutan ang kabayanihan nyo.”

(Forgive us if there are times we show you an ugly attitude. We will not forget your heroism.)

In light of the increasing number of COVID-19 patients, Vice Ganda has also donated medical supplies such as N95 masks and gloves to medical workers combating the disease.

He also made an appeal on social media to practice compassion during these trying times. At the time, Vice Ganda stressed empathy should prevail and should be for everyone despite having different views on how to solve the pandemic.  /ra
