While the world is in the middle of a health crisis due to COVID-19, the need for uplifting stories becomes stronger than ever. Actor John Krasinski responded to this demand with his newest YouTube channel “Some Good News” (SGN).
The actor from the hit sitcom “The Office” interviewed his co-star Steve Carell, spoke with a 15-year old cancer survivor, and covered an array of heartwarming anecdotes, as seen on SGN’s YouTube channel last Sunday, March 29.
From various cities all around the world applauding health care workers to random acts of kindness, Krasinski narrated all these stories right at his own home in his 15-minute video.
“For years now I’ve been wondering, why is there not a news show dedicated entirely to good news?” Krasinski mused.
The actor requested his fans to send inspiring stories, via his Twitter post last Thursday, March 26, and people delivered.

To assist him in sharing some positive stories in his vlog, Krasinski called on Carell as his “entertainment correspondent.” Krasinski noted that “The Office” just marked its fifteenth-anniversary last week. The two reminisced about their favorite parts of the show on- and off-camera, through a video call.
They also exchanged witty banter and sent their regards to their spouses during the interview. Carell also commended the SGN logo posted behind Krasinski, which the “A Quiet Place” actor revealed was made by his daughters.
Krasinski then interviewed a 15-year-old girl from California named Coco who recently finished her last round of chemotherapy. When she was finally allowed to come home, the entire street was filled with friends and family who welcomed her with balloons and applause.
Coco told the actor that she was shocked to see all those people gathered together to welcome her. The cancer survivor also took the opportunity to express her gratitude to her nurses and the other medical workers who took care of her in the hospital.
Krasinski told Coco that after she put smiles on people’s faces, it was now her turn to “go have a lot of things to be happy about.” JB
