Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively donate $1 million to help feed people affected by COVID-19

As the world continues to fight against COVID-19, Hollywood couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively reached out to non-profit organizations dedicated to feeding the less fortunate who are affected by the pandemic.
Reynolds and Lively announced that they will be donating $1 million to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada, on their respective Instagram pages today, March 17. The two also encouraged more people to donate to these said organizations. According to the couple, the money will be split between the two charities.
The star of the hit Marvel film “Deadpool” cursed at the virus via his Instagram account.
“I think we can all agree, [COVID-19] is an as*hole,” Reynolds joked. “If you’re able to help, visit, @feedingamerica and @foodbankscanada.”
The actor also noted how COVID-19 has impacted the elderly and those coming from “low income families.”
“Take care of your bodies and hearts. Leave room for joy,” Reynolds added. “Call someone who’s isolated and might need connection.”
Reynolds also jested that his fans could call his fellow actor who played Wolverine in the “X-Men” movies Hugh Jackman, if they need someone to talk to.
“Hugh Jackman’s # is 1-555-(crying emoji)-HUGH,” he jested.

Meanwhile, Lively emphasized staying connected even through virtual means, given the social distancing required to avoid contaminating the virus.
“Though we must be distancing ourselves to protect those who don’t have the opportunity to self-quarantine, we can stay connected,” Lively said. “Facetime, Skype, make a video. Remember the love that can travel through all of this.”
The “Gossip Girl” actress mentioned that communities have been stepping up by “shopping for the elderly [and] making lunches for children.”
“We can all do something for one another, even if that’s simply staying at home,” she stated.

Lively also directed a witty remark to her husband by the end of her message: “Now can someone please tell Ryan that ’emotional distancing’ from his [mother-in-law] is not a thing. Nothing can save him.”
Some Hollywood celebrities have confirmed that they have tested positive for COVID-19, such as Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson. The actor behind Heimdall in “Thor” Idris Elba, “Game of Thrones” actor Kristofer Hivju and Bond girl Olga Kurylenko also disclosed that they have been diagnosed with COVID-19. JB
