Enrique Gil ‘so happy’ spending birthday in quarantine, says Liza Soberano

MANILA, Philippines — With social distancing measures in place during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, gatherings to celebrate events have to be put on hold.

However, this did not dampen Enrique Gil’s spirits during his 28th birthday on March 30, his girlfriend Liza Soberano said in her greeting Tuesday night on Instagram.

The actress posted pictures during their trips together, explaining, “I thought you wished you were elsewhere for your birthday, [that’s] why I’m posting a bunch of our travel photos.”

She shared that despite being at home, Gil expressed his happiness. “Earlier you said ‘I’m so happy, this is exactly how I want to celebrate my birthday.’”

“That made my heart flutter. You’re happiest when you’re with family,” she said. “To more time with family, I love you!”

Gil has spent the past years out of town on his birthday with Soberano. In 2018, the actress threw him a surprise party in Batangas, and the year after, he joined a trip to Bali with her family and his sister Andie.

The 22-year-old actress said last January in a press conference for “Make It With You” that she and Gil had been an item since she was 17.
