MANILA, Philippines — Celebrity couple Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil now have an adopted koala from Australia as a fan’s birthday gift to them.
Twitter user @indeNiaLLady shared on Monday pictures of a certificate that said Soberano and Gil had adopted a koala named Jimmie Jams from the Ballarat Wildlife Park in Victoria. The fan put the adoption in their name last January.
The certificate describes Jimmie as an “energetic young man who is constantly bugging his mum Ella for a ride on her back” and is “always up for a cuddle and loves to meet new people.”
The gift was meant to be given on Soberano’s birthday last January 4, but the certificate arrived in March. The fan shared it in time for Gil’s birthday on March 30.
The “Make It with You” actress took notice of the gesture on Twitter. “Omg. This is so cool!!!! Thank you,” Soberano said Monday with emoji of hearts and hugs.

While LizQuen will probably not be able to visit the koala soon given travel bans, the wildlife park shares pictures of Jimmie Jams on its Facebook page.
The adoption program under the Australian Koala Foundation collects donations to help save koalas in the wild.
