Kylie Verzosa and Jake Cuenca donated food to the frontliners at different hospitals in Metro Manila amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The couple sent the meals to the staff at the Makati Medical Center, Medical Center Taguig, Las Piñas General Hospital and Unihealth Parañaque Hospital, as seen in Verzosa’s Instagram post yesterday, March 29. They partnered with the organization Frontline Feeders Philippines for the initiative.

“I’ve been looking for ways and places to help out since the [pandemic] began, [I’m] grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand,” Verzosa said. “If we could only hand them out ourselves, we would!”

“To the doctors, nurses, lab technicians, security guards, all the cleaners and maintenance [personnel], and to all those who are still working today – from the bottom of my heart thank you so much for all [your] service!” she added.

Cuenca also uploaded photos of their gesture on his own Instagram page. Along with thanking them for being on duty amid the crisis, he added, “Kayo and tunay na mga bayani (You are the real heroes).”

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has increased to 1,418, as of yesterday. The Department of Health also reported that 42 have now recovered while 71 have died. JB
