Alex Gonzaga and a group of volunteers distributed relief goods to families in Taytay, Rizal, amid the enhanced community quarantine.
She began giving away the donations to households in Barangay Sta. Ana yesterday, March 23, as per her Facebook post on the same day.
The packed goods were picked up by barangay kagawad (village councilor) Tobit Cruz. Gonzaga also apologized in advance if not everyone in the community will end up receiving a pack.
Gonzaga also thanked those who risked their own health to help her and her team hand out the supplies.
“Sana makatulong ito kahit paano sa mga mabibigyan (I hope this helps those who will receive [goods]),” she said on her Twitter page.
Thank you to the people risking their own health to help us distribute our small relief goods for our kababayans. Sana makatulong ito kahit paano sa mga mabibigyan 🙏🏼 pic.twitter.com/WSfmNI0zkP

Each pack contains two canned goods, a carton of milk, a loaf of bread, distilled water, alcohol and a face mask, Gonzaga said in her Instagram Stories yesterday.
Gonzaga put together the bags of relief goods with the help of her fans and volunteers in Taytay, as per her post on March 21.
“Thank you sa (to) Team Gonzaga Taytay Chapter for helping us repack!” she said.“Kahit hindi nila kasama family nila pamilya parin naman kami dito sa bahay at ang reyna namin ay si Pinty!” Gonzaga joked, referring to her mom Pinty.
(Even if they are not with their families, we are still a family here at home and our queen is Pinty!)
Her mom and dad Bonoy also joined the effort by repacking goods, as seen in a separate post.
Gonzaga’s older sister Toni applauded her family’s effort, saying, “No need for [a] position to help. We can all do our part in our own little way!” /ra
