MANILA, Philippines — Ethel Booba was not letting Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto be bullied by Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa) deputy administrator Mocha Uson.

On Twitter Thursday, the comedienne defended Sotto from Uson after a netizen shared a screenshot of a post on the OWWA official’s “Mocha Uson Blog” Facebook page.

The post on Uson’s page, however, was made by blogger Banat By.

“Eto yung sinasabi ko eh. Kaya ng ibang lugar bakit ito si Mayor Sotto pabebe?” the post read.

FEATURED STORIES

(This is what I’m saying. Other cities can do it, why can’t Mayor Sotto can?)

The post supposedly hit Sotto for allowing tricycles to continue operations in Pasig City, even as the national government already imposed a ban on all modes of public transportation as part of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon as cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) quickly spread.

As of Thursday, the Philippines has 217 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 17 have died and eight have fully recovered.

Malacañang thumbed down Sotto’s proposal, saying that the tricycle “lacks the space” for social distancing amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) threat.

“Okay na sa pabebe kesa sa pabobo,” Ethel hit back at Uson. “ Social media distancing talaga kailangan nila. Charot!

(It’s okay to act cute than to be dumb. Social distancing is really needed.)

Ethel was not done, and also hit the detractors of the Pasig City mayor: “Mga virus lang ang galit sa magandang ginagawa ni Mayor Vico Sotto para sa kaligtasan ng nasasakupan nito sa Pasig City. Charot!”

(Only viruses are mad at the good things that Mayor Vico Sotto has done for the safety of those living in Pasig City.)

But Uson, in a later tweet, clarified that the supposed post on her page was posted by an admin.

“FYI, Mocha Uson Blog FB page is now composed of different bloggers and admins,” the OWWA official said. “We practice free speech though we differ in opinions on different matters.”

By, in his own Facebook account, slammed Ethel, adding that her reading comprehension was “low.”

But Ethel was having none of it and hit back at By: “Mas mahina ang reading comprehension mo dahil ang sabi ko “nila” meaning dalawa kayo. Inallow nya gamitin mo ang Facebook page nya.”

(You have lower reading comprehension, that’s why I said “they” meaning the two of you. She allowed you to use her Facebook page.)

(Is the fake news of me selling my Twitter account new? Your clap back failed.)
