Bela Padilla announced today, March 18, that her crowdfunding effort for street vendors has raised P3.3 million.
The actress announced on Twitter last night that her target of P1 million had been reached. This morning, she shared that a donation of P2.2 million had come in, bringing the total donations to P3.3 million.
Padilla opened a GoGetFunding page on Monday, March 16, after expressing concern for the welfare of street vendors—such as those who sell taho, banana cue and the like—whose income would be hit by the community quarantine in Metro Manila.

Although the fundraising effort was meant to last for a few weeks, she closed the page on the midnight of March 18 after hitting the P1 million target. It closed at P1.37 million in donations.
She said last night on Instagram Stories, “Thank you so much to everyone who donated from the bottom of my heart.”
“I’m now gonna start emailing GoGetFunding and PayPal so they can start processing this quickly,” she said, adding that she was canvassing for the “best price” for rice and canned goods “so we can share the blessings with more people.” /ra
