WATCH: Michael V draws ‘Creation of a Cure’ amid enhanced community quarantine

As the entire island of Luzon is placed under “enhanced community quarantine,” Michael V created a sketch in light of the situation, adding that “it’s just a matter of time” until a cure is created.

The drawing was based on Italian artist Michelangelo’s painting “The Creation of Adam.” He uploaded a time-lapse video of his piece on his Instagram page yesterday, March 16.

In the actor-comedian’s version, however, Adam is wearing a blue face mask and God is spraying his hand with what appears to be a bottle of alcohol. Michael V also played with the painting’s original title, calling his own piece the “Creation Of A Cure.”

“We all know it’s just a matter of time,” he said.

“Let’s make the most out of our free time and spend it with our loved ones. Kahit nag-aaway-away kayo sa bahay basta magkakasama kayo,” he added. “Ikaw rin… ‘pag kinuha sila ng COVID-19 sigurado, mami-miss mo ‘yung kaaway mo.”

(Even if you are fighting at home as long as you are together. You too… if they are taken by COVID-19 you will surely miss the one you are fighting with.)

“Basta magdasal lang tayo at ‘wag matigas ang ulo, mahahanapan ‘yan ng lunas sigurado,” Michael V said.

(Let us just pray and not be hard-headed, a cure for [COVID-19] will surely be found.)

While there is still no vaccine for the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, some who contract it recover since, for most people, its symptoms are mild fevers and coughs.

In the Philippines, as of this writing, there are 142 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Out of those patients, three have already recovered from the disease, the Department of Health said yesterday.  /ra
