Daniel Padilla keeps watch over sister Magui as she turns 18

Magui Ford Planas celebrated turning 18 with glitz and glamor last Friday, Feb. 28. Older brother Daniel Padilla at times seemed to be protective during the night, but it was all taken in good humor as Magui enjoyed the party.
Stars flocked to her debut at the elegantly designed Blue Leaf in Taguig City. The venue was decked with chandeliers and ornate flower arrangements on the ceiling and spread across banquet tables.

The debutante was an angelic vision in an off-shoulder white dress, opting to put her hair in a youthful wavy ponytail.

Celebrities who made it to the bash included Padilla’s girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo, Kobe Paras and mom Jackie Forster; Ruffa Gutierrez and daughters Lorin and Venice; Dani, Julia and Leon Barretto; Dominic Roque and Angelina Cruz.

Amid the festivities, Padilla was caught looking stern at one point, particularly when Magui interacted with singer and YouTuber Justin Vazquez. While they chatted, the actor stood close by.

As the video circulated on Twitter, Vazquez said yesterday, “It wasn’t my [intention] to offend anybody. Sorry if that’s what came across.”
Magui has since assured Vazquez that it was a joke and thanked him.

Mom Karla Estrada shared highlights from the night on Instagram yesterday, Feb. 29, including the tender moments Magui shared with her Kuya DJ who slow-danced with her.

The TV host and actress gave reassuring words to her daughter: “You are more than enough anak. [N]ever be afraid to fail, it will make you stronger and we are all here to support you in every step of the way!”
Magui is Estrada’s first daughter with former partner Mike Planas. JB
