Celebrity dermatologist Vicki Belo shared “the reality of traveling at the time of coronavirus” when riding on an airplane, as she showed how she sanitizes her seat to make sure she is protected from the disease.
The experts disclosed the modes of transmission by which the novel coronavirus could be gotten, including direct transmission such inhaling the air close to a patient who sneezed or coughed. Contact transmission, meanwhile, happens when a person touches an object tainted with droplets containing the virus. A person can be infected if the person’s tainted hand or any other body part makes contact with the membranes of the person’s mouth, nose and eyes. Lastly, the aerosol transmission is the mixing of the virus with droplets in the air to form aerosol.
Belo prevents getting infected with the novel coronavirus, now referred to as COVID-19, by taking extra precautions such as using an ultraviolet light sanitizer, the Germ Reaper, sanitizing her seat with wet wipes and spraying her hands with alcohol, as seen on her Instagram account yesterday, Feb. 20.
Belo demonstrated how she used the ultraviolet light sanitizer, as “the ultraviolet light supposedly kills the bacteria.” The doctor then proceeded to scrub her seat with baby wipes, especially since she said it is uncertain where the other passengers who previously occupied the seat have been.
“We don’t know everything, where they eat, where they ano (do whatever), right?” Belo said.
She emphasized that it is important to sanitize the items that others might have already touched. Belo also said the hands are more important than the face mask. She added that gloves might be more effective than the masks.
“Protect yourself from the [coronavirus] on a flight,” the beauty doctor said in her post.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health clarified that the virus has not yet been classified as an airborne disease. The department also advised the public to frequently wash their hands, practice proper hygiene, eat nutritious food and wear the appropriate mask to protect themselves. /ra
