During the wake of Yassi Pressman’s father Ronald, fondly known as Ronnie, the Pressman family offered a special song number for the late patriarch.
An emotional Yassi stood in front of her father’s coffin while thanking everyone for celebrating his life during the wake, as seen on her Instagram post yesterday, Feb. 18. Before she could even put the microphone down, her sister Issa interjected to say that they had a song dedicated just for their father.
Issa invited their other family members to “stand up and sing for dad.” The 1970s song by Sister Sledge “We Are Family” began playing in the background as the Pressmans and their loved ones, all dressed in black and white, gathered in front. Yassi’s older half-sister Cara was one of the first ones to stand up and sing.
During the touching moment, the family members smiled and cried while comforting and hugging each other.
Yassi accompanied the video with some words her father left them with. “Carry on, He said. Be Strong, He said. Stay Happy, He said. Always Celebrate Life, & value the People you love, He said.”
The “Ang Probinsyano” actress ended her tribute by telling her father, “Love u Forever.”
Ronnie Pressman passed away earlier this month at the age of 90. Issa also shared what appears to be their father’s final resting place on her Instagram account last Friday, Feb. 14.
Issa and her family were dressed in white as they set butterflies free. Yassi and Issa also held hands while standing in front of a columbarium.
In a separate post on Feb. 10, Issa took a voice recording of her father imparting wisdom about living a life dedicated to keeping and growing happiness.
Issa promised her father, “You lifted us up, now it’s our turn to carry you and your influence in giving value to ‘happiness’.” NVG
