Penn Badgley and his wife Domino Kirke revealed they will finally be welcoming a child together after experiencing two miscarriages in the past.
Kirke, a singer and doula, broke the good news by posting a picture of her baby bump on her Instagram page yesterday, Feb. 10.
“On the road again… pregnancy after loss is whole other thing,” she said in her post.
“After two miscarriages in a row we were ready to call it,” Kirke admitted. “I stopped trusting my body and started to accept the fact that I was done.”
As a woman trained in assisting childbirths, Kirke revealed that it is difficult for her to “detach lovingly from the losses [she has] been present for” and “be in [her] own experience.”
“When I was pregnant at 25, I knew nothing. I had no community,” she said. “I dove in blissfully unaware about birth and its mysteries.”
After gaining 10 years worth of experience as a doula, Kirke now treasures her birth community and what she has continued to learn about pregnancies.
She also addressed her future child, saying, “You’re already teaching us how to stay in the day in a way we’ve never had to, little one.”
The former “Gossip Girl” star and Kirke began dating in 2014, as per reports. The couple tied the knot in a small courthouse ceremony in February 2017.
