Brad Pitt slams US Senate, pays tribute to his kids in Oscars speech

Brad Pitt picked up his first acting Oscar today, Feb. 10 for his supporting role in “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” and got nostalgic in his speech.
Pitt won the Best Supporting Actor award as stunt double Cliff Booth in the Quentin Tarantino film set in 1969 Hollywood.
The actor accepted the award by taking a jab at the impeachment trial against United States President Donald Trump: “They told me I only have 45 seconds up here, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week.”

Democrats had wanted Bolton, Trump’s former national security adviser, to testify during the trial but the Senate rejected this move.

Pitt also became sentimental about how he landed the award after decades of dedication to his craft.
“I’m not one to look back, but this has made me do so. I think of my folks taking me to the drive-in to see ‘Butch and Sundance’, loading up my car and moving out here, Gina and Ridley giving me my first shot. All the wonderful people I’ve met along the way, to stand here now, once upon a time in Hollywood. Ain’t that the truth,” he said.
He gave a shout-out to his six children with ex-wife Angelina Jolie: “This is for my kids, who color everything I do. I adore you.”
Pitt received his first Oscar in 2014 as producer of Best Picture winner “12 Years a Slave”. JB
