To promote the sequel to 2017’s “Rainbow”, Kesha shared the VHS-inspired visual for the title track, “High Road”.
The video, helmed and directed by Magic Seed, follows the vocalist on a psychedelic journey through the desert, as she proclaims “I’m taking the high road, I’m high as f**k/ And I don’t know where I’ll end up/ But I’m laughing, I ain’t losing no sleep.”
Kesha recently opened up about the inspiration behind her latest club banger, which was produced by Jeff Bhasker and Skylar Mones.
“It’s about talking about how things have bothered me in the past about people talking s**t or just being up my a**. And especially in a culture where everyone is so ready to just cancel you if you say one wrong thing. It’s just about me being like, ‘Do you know what? I’m just going to get high and I’m going to laugh about this because it’s so ridiculous,'” she said in a statement via Apple Music.
“High Road” is one of the 15 genre-hopping songs featured in Kesha’s new studio album, which marked her first project since her high-profile lawsuit against former collaborator Dr. Luke.
The full-length notably includes collaborations with Big Freedia, Sturgill Simpson, Brian Wilson, Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds and more.
Kesha will soon embark on a North American tour in support of her fourth studio opus, which will kick off on April 23 at the Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land, Texas. IB/RGA
