MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes has been promoted to lieutenant commander of the Philippine Navy.

His wife, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera-Dantes, shared this news on her Instagram account during the donning of ranks ceremony at the Philippine Navy headquarters on Monday.

“Lieutenant Commander Jose Sixto G. Dantes III PN (Res). Super proud of you my husband. Salute!” Marian captioned her Instagram post.

Dantes, who is currently working for his upcoming drama, GMA-7’s adaptation of the hit Korean series Descendants of the Sun, trained to be a marine reservist in 2006 and renewed his enlistment in 2017.

He will play the character of Captain Yoo Shi Jin, an elite special forces soldier played by actor Song Joong Ki in the original version.
