What you missed seeing at the Golden Globes—and why ‘Aquaman’ hunk took off his jacket
LOS ANGELES—Jason Momoa took off his velvet jacket, baring his Aquaman muscles, and leaving on a sheer black tank top that showed off his impressive pecs. Helen Mirren happened to pass by the jacket-less muscular Hawaiian actor who could only grin.
That scene and many more were among those missed by folks watching on TV last Sunday’s 77th Golden Globe Awards held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
Jason had to take off his green jacket not because it was getting hot inside the star-studded International Ballroom—well, maybe it got hot when the “Aquaman” bared his chest and biceps. But in fact, his wife, actress Lisa Bonet, was getting cold so Jason chivalrously took off his Tom Ford jacket and draped it on her shoulders.
Other memorable moments included Taron Egerton and Rami Malek kissing backstage Dexter Fletcher, who directed the movies that made them win the Globe best actor-comedy or musical in 2020 and 2019, respectively. Olivia Colman, who happened to walk by, smiled at the actors’ shenanigans.
Dexter, who was caught by surprise by the actors’ show of gratitude, directed Taron as Elton John in “Rocketman.”

He held—gasp—not a shaken martini, but what looked like whiskey on the rocks.
Then, on the stage wing, Daniel and Quentin Tarantino watched Ana as she playfully stretched out her gum while Mirren, in the background, applauded someone.
We’ll let the photos tell the many colorful behind-the-scenes, which make the Golden Globes Hollywood’s party of the year.
