Kapuso stars Megan Young and Mikael Daez continue to go strong as a couple: They celebrated their ninth year of being together yesterday, Jan. 6.
Both injected humor into their messages for each other on Instagram. The Miss World 2013 titleholder shared pictures of them in Japan and quipped, “Finally… I didn’t forget your birthday and I didn’t forget our anniversary.”
“Happy 9 years, Fofo! No cheesy message because our photos are cheesy enough.”
Daez posted a video of his girlfriend laughing hysterically, captioning it, “If you told us when we first met that we’d be stuck together for 9 years, this would be our reaction.”
When asked in the comments section if his birthday and anniversary were on the same day, he quipped, “She was my bday gift to myself.”
The two GMA stars were probably surprised that their relationship has gone on for so long, considering that they kept it a secret for a good six years.
Daez only confirmed that they were a couple in February 2017 to the Philippine Entertainment Portal. He and Young explained in a vlog in January 2019 that they kept it under wraps for their careers—for a time he was being paired in a love team while she had Miss World duties.
Their dating habits have also changed since starting out. Daez recalled on Instagram last July that they would go to parties to meet each other’s friends. Now, they are more than happy sitting together in silence playing video games over a kebab meal. /ra
