Actress Dimples Romana, who got pregnant when she was a teenager, said she hoped that her story would inspire young women to triumph over their personal mistakes.

Dimples said her daughter, Callie, now 16, knows her story quite well. “Our children can do the math. I didn’t have to tell her. I just want to say that we all have scars that we’ve gotten while going through life. Nobody is perfect. We all have a chapter in our stories that we draw lessons from. For me, it was that particular chapter—I got married at an early age,” she told Inquirer Entertainment.Dimples was only 19 then. “This is also the reason I’m talking to you today with so much knowledge. Of course, this is also from the people who shared their wisdom with me when I was young,” the actress pointed out.

“I’m so proud that even up to now, our marriage is still in tact. We’re still together as a family,” she said of her husband, Boyet Ahmee. “At the end of the day, our story doesn’t end with a mishap, or a failure. In our story, the mistake was only at the beginning. It’s all about how, with all those broken pieces, we were able to build an even better and more beautiful nest of love.”

“For me, as long as you are humble enough to accept that you’ve made a mistake, and you know how to listen and … are willing to change your ways, it will all make sense in the end—just like what happened to us.” —MARINEL CRUZ INQ
