LOOK: Kim Chiu, Xian Lim spend last days of 2019 in Europe

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim spent the last days of 2019 traveling around Europe, first making a stop in Italy, then the Czech Republic before landing in Switzerland.
Chiu, who is a devotee of Padre Pio, made it a point to first visit the saint’s shrine in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy. She was accompanied by road manager Mo Nuevo for the visit.
“As a devotee of St. Pio it is a dream come true for me to visit San Giovanni Rotondo where his body is still preserved,” Chiu said via Instagram on Dec. 26. “What a surreal experience!”

After visiting the Shrine of Padre Pio, Chiu took to Prague in the Czech Republic with boyfriend Xian Lim, where they were each other’s photographers. It was Chiu’s first time to visit the city and she admired its beauty and history during her walk on its streets.
“Walking down the streets!! Walking is always a good idea!!!” she said. “First timer in Prague!!! Beautiful city with so much history!!!”

Lim also shared sweet photos of them during an evening ride on a 1940s Mercedes-Benz to tour the city, complete with a cheesy and pun-ny take on Donna Cruz’s “Kapag Tumibok ang Puso.”
“Happy when you are @chinitaprincess,” quipped Lim. “Perfect pala dito kantahin… Ka-Prague tumibok ang pusoooo… Waley. Off to our next destination…”

Chiu, on the other hand, was ever grateful to Lim for the sweet ride.
“What a better way to end the night touring the city with this 1940s Mercedes ride!” said Chiu. “Beep!!! Beep!!!!! Thanks Xi!!!”

Chiu also did not miss out on snapping photos while in Prague, especially when she spotted a row of buildings that resembled scrumptious chocolates.
“It looks so creamy!!!!!!! Para silang mga chocolates sa pader!!!! (Matcha, strawberry cream, white chocolate, honeycomb flavor!!!!” said Chiu. “Such a picturesque city!!! Can I live inside the pink bldg?!!!”

As the year comes to a close, Chiu looked back on the past decade, sharing to her fans that 2010 was one of the hardest years for her and her family.
“It tested me as a person that I really don’t know what to do, I don’t have my family with me yet here in Manila, only few friends, literally sinking and just let the water flow me to where it goes…” she said.
“But… realizing, looking back through the years I AM truly grateful for those experience, it honed me, it made me a better me as the years pass I’ve learned a lot, I managed to look things brighter that I never thought I could,” she added.

She also said the hardships that life gives a person can help them in becoming better, happier and more fulfilled and strong.
“You just have to go on and never give up!!” she said. “I am truly thankful to all the people I met along the way thank you for making me this happy.”
On Dec. 30, Chiu shared a photo of her posing by the scenic riverside of Lucerne, Switzerland, and bid the year with peace.
“364 of 365!!! Felt like I’m inside a post card!!!” said Chiu. “Last photo peace out 2019! Auf Wiedersehen!”
