WATCH: Rufa Mae Quinto, Mimiyuuuh take on wine tasting crash course
Actress Rufa Mae Quinto and vlogger Mimiyuuuh took on the challenge of becoming wine experts after going on a wine tasting date at a wine bar in Quezon City. As expected, Quinto and Mimiyuuuh’s wine adventure involved a lot of laughter and endless jokes.
The duo apparently wanted to channel their inner Cersei Lannister from the hit TV series “Game of Thrones”. Quinto explained how the former Queen of the Seven Kingdoms always held a cup of wine in her hand when she delivers her lines in the show, as seen on Mimiyuuuh’s YouTube channel on Dec. 20.
Quinto and Mimiyuuuh invited a wine connoisseur, Mabel Papa, to teach them the proper way of drinking wine. The wine expert also walked them through the different types of white and red wines like rosé, chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon. They also tasted various cheeses, crackers and dips that complemented each wine.
Halfway through sipping their wines, Mimiyuuuh jokingly requested for the staple Filipino fish craker kropek. Quinto granted Mimiyuuuh’s wish by bringing out the snack she said she brought for the occasion.
“Ayaw na po namin ng manchego cheese, okay na po kami dito sa kropek (We do not want to eat manchego cheese anymore, we are okay with kropek),” Mimiyuuuh told the wine expert.
By the end of Mimiyuuuh and Quinto’s wine date, they were awarded with certificates for completing their crash course. Quinto and Mimiyuuuh also tried recreating Cherie Gil and Sharon Cuneta’s iconic copycat scene from the 1980’s classic film “Bituing Walang Ningning”.
“You’re nothing but a second rate, trying hard, copycat,” Quinto said while holding her glass of wine.
Mimiyuuuh responded to Quinto, saying “It hurts you know”, then broke into fits of laughter.
Mimiyuuuh was recently recognized as one of the Philippines’ top emerging local content creators on YouTube. The vlogger also became a voice option talent for the GPS navigation app Waze this month. JB
