Due to the extreme winds and intense rainfall brought about by Typhoon Tisoy, some stars took it upon themselves to use their social media platform to remind the public to stay safe and vigilant. Others took a different approach by trying to make light of the situation.

Typhoon Tisoy, with the international name Kammuri, made landfall in Sorsogon on Monday evening, Dec. 2, as per the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Actress and soon-to-be mother Anne Curtis extended her well-wishes and prayers to everyone via Twitter today, Dec. 3.

“Keep dry and safe,” the actress said.

Musician Jim Paredes advised everyone yesterday to charge their phones in case power outage occurs when Tisoy hits various areas in the country.

Actor and former “Pinoy Big Brother” contender Edward Barber also reminded people to check on their loved ones.

“Check up [on] your loved ones as much as the NDRRMC sends us emergency messages,” he said on Twitter today.

Comedienne Ethel Booba had a different and wacky request from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), which has been sending emergency weather advisories all around the country.

“NDRRMC pasend po notification sa kapatid ko habang nag ML sya (please send a notification to my sibling while he/she is playing Mobile Legends). Charot (Kidding)!”

While others might want to avoid the storm, comedian and TV host Allan K said he was “waiting for Tisoy,” as seen on his Instagram yesterday, Dec. 2.

Joey de Leon replied to his co-host in the noontime TV show “Eat Bulaga!” by joking that maybe Allan K was waiting for a different “tisoy” (slang for mestizo), on Twitter, today.

Typhoon Tisoy is currently bringing intense rainfall over the southern part of Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon, according to Pagasa’s weather bulletin this morning (8 a.m.).

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Mindoro provinces, Rizal and northern Quezon (including Polillo Island) is also forecasted to experience frequent to continuous heavy rains, between late in the afternoon today until Wednesday morning. JB
