LOOK: Catriona Gray meets Miss Universe 2019 candidates

The reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray met with some of the ladies aspiring for the crown, in a charity event for cleft-lipped children in the United States, yesterday, Dec. 1.

The beauty queens decorated their own mirrors to be donated to the beneficiaries of Smile Train, an international children’s charity which provides corrective surgery for children with cleft lips and palates.

“Had the opportunity to talk to the #MissUniverse 2019 delegates at this morning’s @smiletrain event,” Gray said on Instagram last Sunday. “[S]uch an amazing batch!”

Gray also expressed that she was glad she had the opportunity to bond with the ladies, as she wished them good luck in the course of the week, for the Miss Universe competition.

Gray sat in a circular table surrounded by the Miss Universe 2019 candidates, in between Miss Universe USA Cheslie Kryst and Miss Universe Poland Olga Bulawa.

Gray also got the chance to talk more about the Smile Train organization in front of the 90 candidates, as seen on the charity’s Instagram Story today.

Miss Universe Philippines Gazini Ganados was also in attendance at the event, proudly wearing a necklace promoting an indigenous tribe in Mindanao.

“Wearing this beautiful neckpiece with an image of a girl from the Ata tribe of Mindanao perfect for our Smile Train @smiletrain event today,” Ganados posted yesterday.

The beauty pageant’s much-awaited coronation night will be held at Tyler Perry Studios, Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday, Dec. 8. JB
