Vice Ganda affirms love for Ion Perez in birthday post
MANILA, Philippines — In a long post, Vice Ganda affirmed his love for boyfriend Ion Perez who would be celebrating his birthday on Wednesday.
In an Instagram post accompanied by a photo of the couple, the host-comedian recalled his days of sadness and nights spent crying — until he met Perez.
“Ang tagal ko ding naging malungkot habang nagpapasaya. Ang tagal ko ding lihim na umiiyak habang nagpapatawa. Ang tagal kong ininda yung mga sakit na pinagdaanan ko,” Vice said.
[I have long been sad while making people happy. I have long been secretly crying while making people laugh. I have long suffered pain.]
“Hanggang nakilala ko siya. Lahat biglang nagbago,” he continued.
[Until I met him. Everything changed.]

The two have long been linked with each other but only confirmed their relationship this month.
The couple met in the noontime variety show “It’s Showtime,” where Vice serves as one of the hosts, with Perez joining the show in September 2018.

“Sinagip niya ako bago ako tuluyang malunod. Binura niya lahat ng hinanakit. Naging matamis ‘yung dating ubod ng pait,” the host-comedian said.
[He saved me before I completely drown. He erased all the pain. All that was bitter became sweet.]
“Siya lang ‘yung may tapang na mahalin ako at ipagmalaki ito. Siya lang ‘yung may boses na ipagsigawan ang pangalan ko. Siya lang ‘yung may kamay na humawak sa ‘kin kahit may ibang nakatingin. Siya lang ‘yung yumakap sa ‘kin na di nagtatago sa dilim. Siya ‘yung minahal ko na di nahiyang mahalin din ako,” he added.
[He is the only one who has the courage to love me and be proud of me. He is the only one who has the voice to scream my name. He is the only one who has the hands to hold me even when others are staring. He is the only one who hugged me without hiding in the darkness. He is the who I loved without being ashamed of loving me back.]
Vice Ganda said he is praying for Perez’s happiness and for their relationship to last a lifetime.
The host-comedian ended his post with a declaration of love for Perez: “Sana po ipahintuloy nyong habang buhay ko syang makasama. Kasi po mahal na mahal ko siya.”
[I hope we can be together for a lifetime. Because I love him so much.]
