Let’s get to know more Tinseltown’s newest “It” girl, Sanya Lopez. Eat your hearts out, guys!

Here’s my chat with Sanya:

What’s the craziest thing that you and Jak (Roberto) did as siblings? When we were kids, he tied me up while we were playing. He was the kidnapper, and I was the victim. I cried and asked for mom’s help.

FEATURED STORIES

What do you find hard to understand about guys? Nothing really, because I’ve always been “one of the boys.” It also helps that I’m close to my Kuya Jak so I can size up guys easily.

What scares you about falling in love for the first time? Friends tease me about my being “NBSB” (no boyfriend since birth), but I don’t mind. I tend to be very emotional. I’m all-in and all-out when I care for someone. I have to learn how not to be overpowered by my emotions. So I will avoid love for now and focus on work.

What was your most embarrassing moment? When I had a bad fall in Boracay because I didn’t dive the right way. All eyes were on me. I wanted to melt.

What are some of the things on your bucket list? Skydiving, bungee jumping and to see the aurora borealis.

Jinggoy gets ribbing from Sharon

At the 50th birthday bash of my fab Kumareng Precy Ejercito (wife of Jinggoy Estrada), Sharon Cuneta made a surprise appearance (Sharon, Lani Mercado, Lorna Tolentino and I are godmothers of Precy’s son, Jolo). Precy got misty-eyed because all the while, she thought that Sha was abroad.

Before singing “Handog” and “Ikaw,” Sha had a sweet message for the birthday girl. “Politics aside, Precy and Jinggoy have been my friends for many years,” she said. “Now more than ever, they know who their true friends are.”

Then in jest, the Megastar said, “Come on, Jinggoy, hold the hands of your wife. Even if I was your imaginary girlfriend before. ‘Di ko alam na gf mo pala ako noon kasi panay pabulong ka sa assistant ko (laughs).”

Amy Austria, Lorna T, Lani Mercado, Isabel Rivas, Marissa Sanchez, Jamie Rivera and nonshow biz friends also serenaded Precy with “That’s What Friends are For.”

The celebration proved that in the make-believe world of show biz, real friendships exist, après tout.

Guessing game

Looks can be deceiving. This angelic newbie is a devil in disguise. Her discoverer lamented to me, “She’s such an ingrata and a phony. I moved heaven and earth for her. Now that breaks are coming her way, she has forgotten that I paved the way for her.”

Fame can sometimes cause amnesia. One’s “true colors” are rarely “in black and white.”

Not all is lost

Too bad that the San Beda Red Lions lost in the NCAA, and the UP Fighting Maroons failed to make it to the UAAP finals. But if it’s any consolation to the star players of both teams, Evan Nelle and Koko Paras got the looks to join show biz if ever they want to change court someday.
