Camila Cabello has recently unveiled another cut from her sophomore studio effort, which she described in an announcement post as “one of my favorite songs I wrote for the album.”
“Living Proof” was written by the “Liar” vocalist in collaboration with Justin Tranter, Alli Tamposi as well as Mattman & Robin.
It finds Cabello celebrating her intimate relationship with a lover that she describes as her guardian, asking him “Where did you come from, baby?/And were you sent to save me?/Ooh, there’s God in every move/Ooh, and you’re the living proof.”
“Living Proof” arrives on the heels of the previously issued “Shameless”, “Liar”, “Cry for Me” and “Easy”, which will also appear in “Romance”.
The album, which Cabello first teased in early September, will follow her 2018 self-titled debut.
The former Fifth Harmony member recently detailed the inspiration behind “Romance”, pointing out how central the theme of love was in the creative process.
“I wanted this album to sound like what falling in love feels like, pretty impossible thing to do but I can say I gave it all I had. I’ve never lived as much life as I did writing this album. It was messy and beautiful, unforgettable and at times so painful I wish I could forget. It was excruciatingly consuming and impossible not to get lost in. It was mine… and now it’s yours,” she noted in a statement.

In addition to releasing her sophomore album, Cabello will make her acting debut in Sony Pictures’ forthcoming “Cinderella”, which will arrive on Feb. 5, 2021. RGA/JB
