Actress Rita Avila honored her late son, Elia Jesu, on what would have been his 13th birthday yesterday, Nov. 10.
Avila posted an old photo of baby Elia Jesu together with photos of a moth, on her Instagram page last Saturday, Nov. 9. The baby, whom Avila calls Jesu, is her child with her husband, filmmaker FM Reyes.
She said her son is now a “big boy”, no longer a little butterfly or a fly, and instead is now a “big moth.” Avila added that the moth had been on a set she and her daughter Kate were on before, while they were “dancing like crazy during a long break.”
“It flew in circles on top of us then stayed there as if watching us,” Avila pointed out.
Avila believed that her son visited her in the form of a butterfly, after one flew out of his grave when she visited it before, she recalled in an interview on “Magandang Buhay” last Thursday, Oct. 31. The actress then explained that she felt her son’s presence when a fly flew near her during one of her birthdays and “kissed” her on the cheek.
The actress also shared a moment of her at her son’s grave together with daughter Kate and Reyes, as seen in her post, also yesterday. The grave was adorned with a photo of Elia Jesu, flowers and stuffed toys.
Avila recalled how she heard a sound which prompted her to take her cellphone out of her bag. She then saw the numbers 444 on her phone, which are considered as angel numbers in Biblical references.
“Our angel is with us on his bday,” Avila said.
Avila lost Elia Jesu less than a month after she gave birth to him in 2006 due to complications from a heart surgery. JB
