Marjorie on Claudine’s video: I don’t refer to mom as ‘Inday’

MANILA, Philippines — “I don’t refer to My Mom as ‘Inday.’ We call her Mom or Mommy.”

This was Marjorie Barretto’s response after her sister, Claudine posted a viral video of her talking about a certain “Inday.”

“Hay nako, we’re leaving na, super drama to death si ano… Inday… baka masapak ko,” Marjorie said in the shaky video.

[We are leaving, Inday is being super dramatic, I might smack her.]

Claudine’s video was already removed from Instagram, as of this writing.

In a statement sent to PEP.ph, Marjorie said she was not referring to her mom, Estrella “Inday” Barretto, when she said “Inday” in the video, noting that she was in good terms with her mother.

“Hindi po ang Mommy ko ang pinag-uusapan namin dito. And hindi sinasapak ang 82-year-old Mother. My Mom is one TOUGH WOMAN, none of us can ever overpower her,” Marjorie said.

“Let this be known to all that My Mom and I are on good terms. There are far more important matters happening in this country like earthquakes. Enough of the Barretto family problems,” she added.

Marjorie said she did not want to “take part anymore in their dirty tricks, tactics, and cyberbullying.”

Marjorie also warned the public who shared and reposted the viral video as it is illegal for people to take a video of someone without their consent.

“In the meantime, I hope those who took those videos and continue to spread them online are aware of Republic Act 4200. Ayon po sa batas, [Under the law] it is clearly illegal to record someone (audio and video) without their consent,” she said.

“Siguro po dapat kumuha muna sila ng magaling na legal advice bago nila inilalabas ito maliciously and out of its real context,” she added.
