Aiko Melendez and boyfriend Zambales Vice Gov. Jay Khonghun flew to Sydney, Australia, to celebrate their second anniversary together.
The couple arrived in the city last Friday, Oct. 25, after taking a cruise from Auckland, New Zealand.
“Finally after 5 long days in the sea with no wifi, no signal… We are now in Sydney,” Melendez said.

The first places the couple visited were the historic Queen Victoria building and the Australia Square.

Days after, the two chose to celebrate their second year as a couple with a lunch at the iconic Sydney Opera House, as seen in Melendez’s Instagram post on Monday, Oct. 28.

“2 years of UPS and Downs,” the actress said in a separate post. “But I definitely made the right decision of being with you @jaykhonghun #jaiko.”

After their lunch date, the two made their way in the evening to the Altitude restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney for dinner together.

Melendez also shared moments from their two years as a couple through a video she posted on Instagram. Milestones in their relationship such as their first date, the first time Khonghun met the actress’ mother and the first time they went out in public together were seen in the thoughtful clip.

Melendez first hinted at her relationship with Khonghun back in February 2018, when she shared a photo of their hands clasped together and describing it as “Happiness.”
