Derek Ramsay warns of scammer using his name to invite girls to party

Derek Ramsay warned the public about a scammer using his name to invite women to a stag party he is supposedly organizing for one of his friends.

The actor took to Instagram yesterday, Oct. 22, to alert his fans and followers of an unknown person pretending to help him arrange a fake party.

Ramsay shared a screenshot of a Facebook post by a certain Jamila Joyce Castillo that stated a person was posing as her and telling people she was helping Ramsay organize a stag party.

“Hey guys this crap has been going around for years and it still [hasn’t] stopped!!!” Ramsay said.

“[Please] know that [I] have nothing to do with this person texting these things,” he added.

In Castillo’s post last Sept. 9, she included screenshots sent by the impostor. The person, posing as Castillo, told one of her friends that three women were needed for the said stag party, and that they would be paid P150,000 each to attend. The impostor added that Ramsay himself said the women would pose as his and his friends’ girlfriends during the event.

Aside from Ramsay, singer-actress Lea Salonga has also been victimized by people using her name for ill-intentioned requests. A fake account, for example, posed as Salonga by using her name and profile photo to solicit money from her fans last June.  /ra
