Actress-model Nadine Samonte expressed her willingness to return to showbiz while reminiscing recently about her time with TV networks ABS-CBN and GMA.
“Remembering those days,” Samonte said as she shared her ID from her time on ABS-CBN on Instagram yesterday, Oct. 19. Samonte joined the 10th batch of Star Magic artists alongside Bea Alonzo and Dennis Trillo, among others.
She also expressed her gratitude for her time as a Star Magic artist because she “learned a lot” from the workshops she attended. Samonte revealed that she and her mom would commute from Laguna to Quezon City after her regular classes just to participate in the workshops.
Despite the training running from 7 to 10 or 11 p.m., and having to commute all the way back to Laguna, Samonte described the experience as “tiring but super worth it.”
After her time with ABS-CBN, Samonte joined the pioneering batch of GMA’s talent competition “Starstruck” in 2003. Her fellow contestants included Cristine Reyes, Jennylyn Mercado and Katrina Halili.
Samonte’s time on “Starstruck” later led her to star in other GMA TV productions which included the romance-drama anthology “Love to Love” and the fantasy series “Super Twins”. She also took the time to thank GMA for launching her career.
The actress, who has been enjoying her private and family life, clarified that she was simply remembering the good old days when she was “really active,” but has no regrets with what she has today — her family.
“I hope one day if God will still permit me to go back why not but now [I’ll] always be thankful for what [I] am, what [i] have and who [i] have become,” she added.
Samonte tied the knot with businessman husband Richard Chua in 2013. They are proud parents to their daughter Heather and son Titus. JB
